Wig Care & Buying Tips – What You Need to Know
Raw Hair vs. Virgin Hair – What’s the Difference?
Choosing between Raw and Virgin hair can feel confusing — but the difference comes down to processing, origin, and long-term performance. Here’s a detailed guide to help you decide which suits your lifestyle, look, and budget.
Which One Is Right For You?
Choose Raw Hair if you:
• Want the highest quality and most natural look
• Plan to wear your wig long-term
• Want to bleach, highlight, or colour your hair
• Are happy to invest more for premium longevity
Choose Virgin Hair if you:
• Want beautiful texture with less upkeep
• Prefer a more affordable option
• Love body waves, curls, or straight styles
• Are new to wigs and want something easy to manage
👑 Why You Need More Than One Wig
Having more than one unit in your wigdrobe (e.g. work wig, everyday wig, outing wig) helps:
• Rotate wear & allow time for proper care
• Prevent overuse that leads to shedding or lace damage
• Maintain longevity — even the best-quality wigs will wear down if overworn without rest
🎨 Colour Considerations
• All colour fades – toner touch-ups may be needed over time
• Re-colouring: Going from light to dark is more sustainable than dark to light
• Blonde & Highlighted Units: Best worn occasionally due to their processed nature
• If worn daily, alternate with another unit and deep condition regularly
• Toning and hydration are key to preventing brassiness and dryness
🧵 Frontal vs Closure – Which Should I Choose?
• For Everyday / Low-Maintenance Wear: Go with a Closure
• 4x4: Good for single, fixed partings
• 5x5: Allows for easy part switching
• 6x6: Offers deeper parting and more natural hairline coverage
• Frontal Units: More styling flexibility but require experience or professional install
• “Glueless frontals” are not beginner-friendly
⁉️ HD or Transparent Lace?
• HD Lace: Ultra-thin and melts easily for a seamless look — but less durable, needs careful handling
• Transparent Lace: Suitable for fair/light skin tones. Darker skin tones may find it harder to blend unless skilled with lace tinting/makeup
Note: All lace types require blending for a flawless finish

Wig Care Tips by Hair Type
📏Straight Hair
• Co-wash weekly with cold water
• Shampoo every other week (shampoo can dry out the hair)
• Let it air dry, minimise heat use
• Always use heat protectant spray
• Detangle gently with a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush
➰Curly Hair
• Refresh curls with water daily
• Apply curl activator or mousse on damp hair
• Use a Denman brush to define curls
• Co-wash weekly with cold water, shampoo sparingly
• Always air dry to maintain natural curl pattern
🤍Blonde/Light-Coloured Hair
• Wash weekly with purple shampoo (sparingly)
• Deep condition for 30–60 mins after every wash
• Apply hair serum while damp for shine & moisture
• Air dry only — use heat minimally
• Wrap in a silk scarf when not in use
Avoid overuse of serum — too much can weigh hair down and make it look greasy
